The Artist and Creative Voice behind Tebazile Art
Elizabeth Dankaro, The Artist and Creative Voice behind TebazileArt. Her nature-inspired journey began in Los Angeles, designing jewelry for clients in the film industry. What began as an exploration of wearable art has grown into a creative practice spanning abstract painting, custom-painted footwear, jewelry, and thoughtfully curated gifts.
Colour and texture form her visual language. Through layered surfaces, expressive marks, and unexpected combinations of tones, Elizabeth builds stories that invite viewers to pause, feel, and discover their own connections. Her work draws on nature, faith, and individuality, bringing an artistic touch to pieces that can be lived with, worn, shared, and cherished.
02 / Beyond the Studio
Celebrating women through craftsmanship and opportunity
Inspired by strong, independent women, her jewelry collections also became a platform for a wider ambition: supporting young African women as they pursue their goals across different industries. This commitment led Tebazile to sponsor Uneku Atawodi, then described as Nigeria’s only female polo player, at the Miami Beach Polo Tournament. Her jewelry design journey also included creating crowns for the Miss Ghana and Miss Nigeria pageants in both 2014 and 2015—celebrating women through both craftsmanship and opportunity.
Elizabeth’s creativity reaches beyond the studio. She has developed and taught art camps for children and young people across the United States, South Africa, Nigeria, and Kenya, encouraging them to explore their imaginations and trust their creative voices. In 2017, she was commissioned to create customised Art pieces for both the President and Vice-President of Kenya.
